Following Saturday's win over Hitchin Town we have been drawn away to Windsor & Eton in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy. The draw made today at Soho Square has given us a tie against a team currently 6th in Southern League Div 1 South & West and who beat Clevedon Town in Round 1.
Matt was definitely the hero for the Supporters team in their match vs Millwall on Saturday morning - making save after save. Playing against possibly the best IFA team in London we just failed in keeping the scoreline to single figures losing 0-10. However it was still a good learning experience in only our second game.
Hampton progressed in the FA Trophy in an exciting game at the Bev. The Beavers looked to have sewn things up against a poor looking Hitchin going 4-0 up with goals from Harris, Matthews and Yaku(2). Hitchin battled back to make it 4-3 before Elliott Godfrey scored a peach of a goal to end a nervous few minutes.
An equaliser 5 mins from time earned a point at Scraley Road - but the performance deserved all three. Goals from Yaks and Jon H-H twice bought Hampton back from a goal down but fine keeping by Heybridge keeper Danny Gay kept us from getting 3 points.
We have now received permission from the Ryman League to compete in this seasons Middlesex Charity Cup competition.
