Firstly Hampton were pleased to announce a contract extention for Dev until the end of season 2008/9.
Secondly Dev has been awarded Manager of the Month for the 2nd month in a row as we continued our excellent League run. |
A pulsating game at the Beveree saw Hampton overcome League leaders Margate with 3 1st half goals from Ian Hodges and 2 Elliott Godfrey pens. Margate were reduced to 10men in the 1st half but they never gave up and pulled one back before being reduced to 9 men. Credit them further as they pulled back a 2nd before time ran out.
Beavers FC conceded a penalty and scored an own goal against their experienced opponents to go down 0-2. A much improved defensive effort - though again things were picked up in our display to improve upon.

Another 3 points chalked up by Hampton on their travels in a fiercely competitive local derby. Ian Hodges double proved to be enough in a sometime backs to the wall performance - especially when down to 10men after Marcello was sent off for 2 yellow card offences. The win keeps Hampton 4th and they take on 2nd placed Margate next.
Beavers gave a decent account of themselves and maybe learnt a lesson or two , whilst being beaten by another of the IFA League's established sides. Only 1-2 down at h-t we became more disjointed in the 2nd half once we began making substitutions - which seemed to disrupt our pattern of play. Click Here for the match report.
Two Ryan Lake goals and an own-goal was enough to see Hampton take all 3 points. It appeared clear from the start the visitors had come for a point and it took Hampton 65 mins to break the deadlock but the 2nd goal 3 mins later gave East Thurrock too much to do. Hampton stay 4th.
Against one of the well established IFA sides who had conceded only 5 goals all season the Beavers side gave it their all - and managed to nick a consolation goal for themselves.

Whilst the 1st team game was rained off in the afternoon the respective supporters teams played through the difficult conditions. It resulted in a first ever win for Beavers FC with goals from Danny Heath and Andrew Simpson.
