Hampton started of the 2006/2007 season with a 2-0 win away at East Thurrock United. Both goals coming from new signing Ian Hodges, with the first being on 9 minutes when 'yaks' clipped the ball into his path and made no mistake by slipping the ball past the keeper and in off the right-hand post. The second goal came via the penalty spot when Hodges converted after his shirt being pulled by Thurrocks No.4. The Beavers looked comfortable for the whole game with East Thurrocks best chance coming from Vinnie John with a header just before the final whistle.
Alan Devonshire and his team will look to build on this result when they entertain Hendon at The Beveree on tuesday.
